Action Cricket is a well-established indoor game, aimed at everyone from the age of seven to seventy. It is a fast paced, exciting game played by eight players per side.
Each game lasts 1 hour 10 minutes and is pure action from the start to the finish. It can be played by men, woman, mixed (men and woman) and kids. We have various leagues to suit all types of players, from beginner to expert.
The game originated in Australia in the late seventies, spreading rapidly to New Zealand and England where it was played every week by men, women and children. It is a limited over's game of equal participation with eight players per team. When fielding each player bowls for two over's, consisting of six balls per over, and each batting pair faces four over's. Runs are scored by batters crossing the half distance between the wickets and hitting the ball into different scoring zones of the net. When you’re out, you’re not – you simply lose 3 runs.
Action Cricket is a fast and exciting game played by the serious and the fun loving sportsperson all year round. All equipment is provided by the Arena and fully qualified and friendly umpires will explain the rules and guide you through the game. All you need is a pair of running shoes along with suitable sports gear. Remember, action cricket is a great way of team building, and many of our clients use the game to create team spirit amongst their employees by entering a team into a league or simply booking a social from time to time.
A softer ball than outdoor cricket is used to play the game and it can be played on a league basis where teams of similar strength play against each other or on a once off basis with your colleagues and friends. Games at the Brackenfell Action Arena are played on a Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday and on weekends. If you are interested in playing or would like more information, please don't hesitate to contact us via email or telephone.
